Potito (Sardica, II century – Tricarico, 160) was a pagan converted to Christianity and hence martyred by Antonino Pio. It is revered as a saint by the Catholic Church. Potito (Potitus), a teenager, belonged to a rich pagan family, as well as a 9th century script. The sources on this saint speak of several miracles, though not historically verifiable: in particular, he would have liberated the daughter of Emperor Antonino Pio from the devil, who first gave him the lions in the meal, but they before him became docile, after he threw In hot oil and Potito came out naked, then he cut his head because of his faith.
