Description
Chloe (f) – St Chloe, commemorated in ancient Corinth together with holy apostles Titus, Crispus and Justus (the Sunday between February 13 and February 19 – Saint).
Saint Chloe is a figure mentioned briefly in the New Testament, specifically in the First Epistle to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 1:11). In this letter, the Apostle Paul writes that he has received news from “the household of Chloe” about divisions and disputes within the Corinthian church. She is not depicted as a major figure in the broader narrative of early Christian history, but her mention is notable because it shows that she was likely a woman of influence in the early Christian community, and her household seems to have played a role in providing Paul with information about the state of the church.
Saint Chloe is generally honored in the Eastern Orthodox Church and other Christian traditions, though little else is known about her life or specific contributions beyond the brief reference in Paul’s letter.
